Rabbit, Run by John Updike

The book Rabbit, Run by John Updike is one of the great American novels of the second half of the 20th century, and the first in a series of 4 books that tells the story of modern American life with all its trials and ambiguities.

Rabbit Angstrom is a young man who was once a basketball star in high school. Now, at age 26 he’s a suburban husband and father who is realizing that adult life isn’t nearly as glamorous as he had once imagined. He decides to leave his young wife and son, and starts an existential journey full of sex, anger and doubt. The book is great, as is the rest of the series. Check it out!
