for better or worse = para bien o para mal
The elections are coming soon and the government will be changing, for better or worse.
from rags to riches = llegar de la pobreza a ser rico
He started a business and went from rags to riches in just a few years.
like shooting fish in a barrel = muy fácil de conseguir o tener éxito
It’s easy to find jobs in sales. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel!
get by = apañarse, llegar al fin de mes
He doesn’t make a lot of money working at the shop, just enough to get by.
Her Italian is good enough to get by.
a shoestring budget = un presupuesto mínimo
He travelled all over Europe on a shoestring budget.
They’re remodeling their house on a shoestring budget.
get cold feet = ponerse muy nervioso antes de un acontecimiento importante
He got cold feet before the wedding.
get goose bumps (also have or give somebody goose bumps) = poner/tener la piel de gallina
This song is so good! It gives me goose bumps.
