Expresiones en inglés sobre las relaciones románticas

Estas frases sirven para hablar de las relaciones románticas, y a veces las relaciones no tan románticas. Algunas son phrasal verbs!

to ask someone out = ask someone to go out with you

I think I’m going to ask Anne out this weekend, she seems very nice.

to dump someone = to end a relationship in an unfriendly way

She dumped him as soon as she found someone else.

to have an affair = have an extramarital relationship with someone

He had an affair with a woman he met on a business trip to France.

to have a one night stand = have a sexual relationship lasting only one night

She had a one night stand with some guy from a disco.

to get on well with someone = have a good relationship

They get on very well, they never have any problems.

to break up with someone = to end a relationship

They broke up after being together for 9 years.

to put someone off = to offend someone, to cause someone not to like you

When she made that comment, it really put me off. I’m not sure I like her anymore.
