Ayer vimos que hay una gran variedad de expresiones con get, hoy veremos más, a saber:

get sick = enfermarse (también get a cold, a flu etc)

I don’t feel well. I think I might be getting sick.

If you go out with wet hair, you’ll get a cold.

get better = mejorar, recuperarse

My English is getting a lot better.

I had a cold last week, but I’m getting better now.

get worse = empeorar

If the economy gets worse, people are going to lose trust in the government.

get into something = interesarse por algún tema

He got into jazz music when he lived in Chicago.

Even though my father loved it, I never really got into baseball.

get around to doing something = encontrar tiempo para hacer algo

I’ll go pick up the dry cleaning if I get around to it, but I don’t have much time.

get on with something = seguir con algo después de una pausa

Let’s get on with the meeting. We’ve got work to do!

get drunk = emborracharse

He got drunk at the party and couldn’t drive home.
