Verb Patterns: Make and Let

Hay un par de verb patterns que nunca he mencionado aquí: make and let.

Se usan de la siguente forma:

To make someone do something.

To let someone do something.

My boss made me stay at work late.

Her mother let her go to the party.

Como vimos en el artículo de want y otros verb patterns (I want you to do something), a veces ponemos una persona como complemento con el to + infinitivo después.

She wants me to call her later.

He asked me to stay at work late.

He let me leave work early.

She made me call her that night.

I made her get out of bed.

They made us turn the music down.

My mother won’t let me travel alone.

Her father let her go to the concert if she promised to be home at a reasonable hour.
